Sometimes in life the need for the right word at the right time can be analogous to the need for water in dry desert. If you have not experienced this need yet, you will during your journey at some point; a word of encouragement after a failure, a word of hope after a diagnosis, a word of comfort after a loss or a word of wisdom when making tough decision.

Life can deal us a hand we never asked for; one with experience we’d rather not have yet life happens. Situations are what they are and you are left holding that hand. What’s important from this point forward is not what hand you’ve been dealt but how you play the hand you have.

Enter Jesus, without regard for the hand you were dealt, He offers us membership in His divine family which will last forever. It just doesn’t get better than that. The Power of God’s Purpose

This is so true. Going trough an experience right now with a family member who is battling 4th stage cancer. She has a daughter my niece who is a senior in high school who is having a tuff time facing her mom who is down to 88lbs. In the middle of much kaios , when we became still and prayed, the Holy Spirit brought a peace on the family beyond all understanding. Bless the Lord for Hus love and power. We are standing on God’s word and praying for a miracle. There is power and victory in the name of Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 – …fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This scripture calls us to attention in the military sense of that word (attention). When at attention we’re not available to distraction or the usual relaxed allowance of minutiae that invades and takes over our lives so effortlessly.

It’s a call to arms, to our rightly position, to attend to the author and finisher of our faith.

As we share our faith with unbelievers, we are sure to get many excuses as to why they have yet to give their hearts to the Lord.

Our responses to these excuses must be biblical, loving and compassionate. What the unconverted do not need are believers who JFJ them. JFJ stands for “Jump them for Jesus.” That is not a biblical approach and will not, in most instances, produce the desired results.

I want to offer you, over the next three days, biblical responses to common excuses that unconverted people make.

Ward off every opportunity to become weary

Hebrews 12:3 – For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

I love the fact that Christ is self-revealing and not self-concealing. He endured hostility from sinners against Himself. Among the most difficult to overcome are those feelings we have as a result of having been betrayed by family or friends. What do you do when the people you’ve helped turn on you to hurt you, when your sacrifice of time, treasure and talent go unappreciated and scoffed at? That’s tough and if anything could produce weariness in you certainly this could.
